💥 PMOS Explained — Episode 5
🥸 Treatment Options in PMOS
There is no single treatment that suits every woman with PMOS.
Treatment depends on:
- Your symptoms
- Whether you are trying to conceive
- Your menstrual pattern
- Metabolic risk
- Your personal priorities
😎 Lifestyle Remains an Important Part of Management
This may include:
- Regular physical activity
- Balanced nutrition
- Good sleep
- Weight management when appropriate
🙈 But lifestyle alone is not always enough.
For irregular periods or androgen-related symptoms, hormonal contraception may be used in suitable women.
👀 Metformin may be helpful, especially when insulin resistance, impaired glucose tolerance, or other metabolic concerns are present.
🧔♀️ For excess hair growth or acne, additional treatments may sometimes be needed.
If pregnancy is the goal, treatment focuses on restoring ovulation and improving fertility.
💗 The Important Message
PMOS treatment should be individualized.
The goal is not simply to “treat the ovaries.”
It is to manage symptoms, protect long-term health, support fertility when needed, and improve quality of life.
